Saturday offered twenty-five programme sections from morning till midnight. We started with animated videos for children called Animated Shorts 2014. The Authors of the films are students of the Animation Studio at UTB, Zlín, who used a wide range of animation techniques.
Animation workshop Trabajo took place at noon. It was led by Azucena Losana, a Mexican experimental artist, and Benjamin Ellenberger, who is one of the youngest filmmakers within the current experimental film scene in Buenos Aires.
Pavel Ryška held a lecture on Svatopluk Pitra, a graphic and visual artist of animated films. An illustrated lecture Here is nothing, but neon signs... focused on exploring the artist's world after he emigrated to the United States in the sixties. The lecture was supplemented by screening of selected films Pitra had worked on.
At 1:00 pm, Nicholas O'Brien held a lecture in which he dealt with three various models of collective ownership, common distribution and other alternative cultural models of shared property.
The Ideal Visions finalists were presented at 2:30 pm. The representatives of the works answered various questions on their approach to creating.
Pavel Klusák, a music journalist, talked about animated pop bands who were very popular in the golden age of TV. The section was called The Bands that Never Existed.
Jamie Cifuentes, a playwright and mainly the shadow theatre pioneer, presented a story about the mouse Pipo for the second time at PAF. A workshop followed after the performance Pipo's Trip (El viaje de Pipo).The performance was for kids as well as for adults.
At 4:00 pm, a discussion on internal as well as foreign problems in the sphere of archiving in the digital age was held. The open discussion took place in the Congregation Hall. The discussion was led by Matěj Strnad who is a theoretician and methodologist of archiving.
The names of Benjamin Ellenberger and Azucena Losana appeared for the second time in the programme. This time, they were presenting their films. Both artists are interested in found film materials and they also make their own films.
The Coding Lab of the group Kolektiv was opened from 5:30 pm. There, you could try your own coding.
Within the section Motion, Change, Presence, various performances took place in the Theatre. All the performances were followed by discussions led by a significant British artist and curator of this section Mark Fell. Joe Gilmore and Paul Emery created a new system for PAF. They generate a continuous amount of video and sound parts from the two recordings. The special system is adaptable to new conditions and situations. Then Second Nature took place and we were left in complete darkness, led to the situation by sound only. At 8:0 pm, within the special PAF cooperation of Lucy Railton and Rebecca Salvadori, you could discover the interest in restricting emotional reactions in the work and in the role of synchronicity of image and sound.
The screening of Ways of Something I and II went on even on the third day. The screenings are created by digital artists of the remake of the canonical BBC documentary series from the seventies.
In PAF's Saturday programme, you could find a focus on current Argentinean video in the screening of Buen video – Copia Infiel. This section was presented by Azucena Losana, a Mexican artist and curator.
João Maria Gusmão and Pedro Paiva presented their artistic practise in the Film Auditorium. Their practise includes creating 16 and 35 mm films, photographs, statues and installations and optical machines.
In the evening hours, you could watch a mini double-portrait of Roman Skalický and Pavel Lukavský, Czech amateur animators. The screenings were presented by PAF in cooperation with Brněnská šestnáctka festival.
An hour before midnight, the Theatre was full of people because of a double concert. You could see the show of Prague post-punk band Lightning Glove combining the rhythms of current dance music with British industrial music. The other show was of an American musician Freddy Ruppert who lives in Prague and makes experimental electronic music.
After the Friday's Czech-Japanese programme, another foreign one took place on Saturday. This time, you could compare the Czech student films with the works of Canadian Concordia University in Montreal.
"The first Norwegian feature and most visited animated film." A puppet film Pinchcliffe Grand Prix, which you had the chance to watch at midnight, is labelled with this statement.
Even on Saturday, you could enjoy a DJ show in Café Tungsram. That night, Pjoni & Ink Midget were performing.
