PAF has beenone of the participants of a Europe-wide exhibition event held neither in a gallery nor in a studio. This event actually tookplace within documentation on the web. 6PM EU was a historic event: in 4 hours it reached 996,000 on-line followers and 1,500 images.
This new one night contemporary art event called 6PM evolved from the initiation of Italian LINK Art Center for the Arts of the Information Age (in cooperation with Abandon Normal Devices a Gummy Industries) and was supported by European Commission. 6PM is an open format, a turnkey exhibition which might be held by anyone who will follow the set instructions. 6PM is quite similar to very popular events like BYOB (Bring Your Own Beamer; author of the concept: Rafaël Rozendaal, 2010; for more information, you can head here) or Speed Show (author of the concept: Aram Barthol, 2010).
Through organized documentation on the web, 6PM Your Local Time interconnects artistic institutions, galleries and art studios across the whole Europe. Whether a special one night exhibition or a special event (an opening, a closing, a happening, a performance etc.), all the art shows will be open to the public at the same time (6:00 pm) and under the same label. Finally, all of them will be linked by their common documentation presented on the web. Particularly on Instagram and twitter under the hashtag #6pmeu and mainly on the 6PMYLT official website.
Last year, the first verification of this exhibition format functionality took place in London. This year’s event is therefore about to be only the second of its kind. 100+ exhibitions and art events in 23 European countries will participate in 6PM Your Local Time Europe. The Czech Republic shall be represented by PAF and the Prague post-internet group Kurzor Kolektiv.
Festival of Film Animation Olomouc has enteredthe 6PM YLT project with the exhibition by Tereza Darmovzalová. In her project SPACE II., she carries out an environmental intersection of her minimalistic series of spatial compositions with the woodland.
The opening and the picnic in a wood close to Bělá pod Pradědem (Jeseníky) took place on 22nd July 2015 at 6:00 pm. The followers were able to either visit the opening in person or to watch it on PAF twitter and the website http://www.6pmyourlocaltime.com/socialwall/6pmeu/
