The ninth laureate of the award for artists over 35 was announced on Tuesday, 10th February 2015. The winner is Vladimír Havlík (1959) an Olomouc performer, educator and a former juror of Other Visions (2007).
Havlík was nominated by artists and theoreticians of the young generation. A three-member jury consisting of Anežka Bartlová (a theoretician and art critic, the winner of Věra Jirousová Award), Lucia Sceranková (an artist, Academy of Fine Arts, Prague graduate, nominee of Jindřich Chalupecký Award 2014) and Lumír Nykl (theoretician and music critic) agreed on his victory. He won the award 'for me rather incomprehensibly', as he said while receiving the Award from Martin Zet for Karel Malich.
The award traditionally carries the name of the previous laureate (in 2014, it was Martin Zet who wished for the next year's award to be called '....for Karel Malich').
Karel Malich himself was among this year's finalists together with Vladimír Havlík a Zbyněk Baladrán

The award also includes the announcement of the best single exhibitions and the best group exhibitions within the past period (18 months). Figures and Prefigurations (curator Karel Císař, City Library, City Gallery Prague, 2014) was awarded as the best group exhibition for the period 2013-2014. The best solo exhibition for 2013-2014 went to The Worst of Martin Zet (Divus, 2013), by the previous laureate Martin Zet. Return to Adriaport by Adéla Babanová (2013) became the best piece of work of the year for the same period.
e activity The Artist Has an Award (www.laureat.cz) was created in 2007. It was set up because of the need to bring attention to personalities of the art scene who are natural authorities for the younger generation of artists and theoreticians and whom the younger generation deeply respects. It is a peer expression of recognition, admiration and respect and an attempt to bridge the intergenerational gap by creating the space for personal meeting.
We, this year's jury, have decided to shift our focus to a different and further place – outside the centre and within long discussions somewhere between Prague and Olomouc we have decided to award the Award for Vladimír Havlík.
By the Award for Vladimír Havlík we want to emphasise the fact that we view the real impact of the award as an important part of the whole project. We find it important that Havlík is a solitaire who has been operating outside the main stream of interest geographically as well as in terms of expression his whole life.
