This year there will be quite a lot of workshops at PAF: you can observe sound with Gurun Gurun, try a workshop of one-second videos, and see the film-archeological ‘Prejection Apparatus’ and computer games with Golem. For children there are workshops of animation and a trip to a time before the construction of the cinematograph.
In order to experience film animation in an active way, visitors to PAF will be offered various workshops.
One workshop will be led by the renowned Czech musical producer Ondřej Ježek, in cooperation with his fellow musician from Gurun Gurun – Jaroslav Tarnovský (Sound Observation). A workshop devoted to the basics of developing a computer game will be led by the developers of the eagerly anticipated project Golem.
Jan Kulka will present his pre-film invention – Prejection Apparatus. It is a special projecting apparatus created in order to practically explore those areas of film that have, up to now, been unexplored. The prejection apparatus manages to project, for example, a roll of bandage, adhesive tape, bubble wrap and till rolls.
Adults can attend the workshop of one-second videos One Swallow with post-internet Kurzor Kolektiv. Its output will become part of the exhibition in the Internet gallery ScreenSaverGallery and will be presented at the festival before the selected screenings. 30th of November is the deadline for sending your own videos to the first preselection.
Workshops for children include The Funfair of Cinematic Inventions, which shows what the apparatuses looked like before the invention of the cinematograph, and two independent lessons of The Little Animators, traditionally led by Pavla Baštanová.
