series of films
The distinctiveness of the Land of the Maple Leaf is defined as both a rampantly democratic American mentality and as being respectfully devoted to the more or less obsolete authority of the United Kingdom. Understandably the Francophone link cannot be ignored – this fact will be supported by such examples as the Canada Vignettes series and Theodore Ushevis’ biographical profile Lipsett’s Diaries.
These films are produced and distributed by the National Film Board of Canada.
