1A2V1, PJONI & INK MIDGET + TVPRODUKT, KAZETY, LIKE SHE
It is the ambition of this year's „accompanying programme" of the Live Animation section to theoretically separate the visual contexts of the club scene. The focus is upon the VJ element of club performances, in which manipulation with moving images occurs within the real time of concerts. These will be split over two nights and will take place in different spaces and as such are intended for different viewers and their diverse perceptions (theatre hall or cellar pub). You will have the opportunity to watch VJs in the twilight of a room or on stage as a part of the physical presence of the music body...
We will introduce those music bands whose visual style has become an inseparable part of their concerts. The only exception, within which framework a VJ will be asked to co-operate, is a programme combining electronic duo Pjoni & Ink Midget with minimalistic style of tvprodukt, newly created especially for PAF. A. Schwarz (Kazety) will represent the scanty features of visual screening, where the television granulation, or in some cases, photography or „looking" for animation in a series of photographs is often the basic material. Project 1A2V1 has its audio (A) and video (V) components distributed quite evenly, in which VJ Kolouch disturbs the pleasing flash animation that geometrizes fauna and flora, thanks to „commands" of gradual decomposition of an image. The animation of Jan Vytiska (Like She) could be characterized by the style of a book illustration or comics, whose content focuses on the failure of the main figures.
All four approaches are very different, the only thing that they might have in common is the formal method. The VJs' work will be presented for the first time at PAF within the framework of the so-called VJs forum. This will have the features of a presentation of work with individual artists (Jakub Němeček, Jiří Havlíček, Jan Šrámek, Jan Vytiska).
