The competition "Other Visons" aims at the mapping of the events within the field of moving images and video in the Czech Republic. The choice of ach annual is unique thanks to the diversity of the curator board that nominates 10 audiovisuals. The main criteria of the competition is condition that the audiovisual must be suitable for a screening in a cinema and shouldn't be older than 18 months. The pieces of both professionals and amateurs can participate in the competition, the fi nal choice depends on the festival dramaturgy (represented by Martin Mazanec) and especially on the verdict of the invited curator – this year's curator is Martin Fišr.
Although the competiton is realized within the Animated Film Festival, its range outreaches the interpretations of animation cathegories more than audience would expect. Any classic animation is accepted, as well as some computer game cinematics or feature fi lm sequences. The concept of the competition may perhaps resemble a choice of experimental fi lms and videos.
The partner of the competition is a Japanese company WACOM that spacializes on the production and the developement of tablet devices. The company exists since 1983 and provides the market with one of the most sophisticated products of its kind – the main prize the company donated he compatition with:

ALENA BOIKA (BLR) an art critic and curator who lives in Prague and Moscow, she is an editor of the Russian version of the Umělec (Artist) magazine.
MARTIN BLAŽÍČEK (CZ) a fi lm maker and dramaturgist who occupies himself with forms of "live cinema", his theoretical specialization is the Expanded cinema era. Presently, he studies the graduant programme at FAMU in Prague.
DERMOT CORRIGAN (IR) an Irish writer and journalist, he contributes to the following periodicals: Filmmaker Magazine (USA), an internet daily Sunday Business Post (IR), When Saturday Comes (VB) and Backpacker (IR).
