The fifth year of the Festival of Film Animation took place from the 8th to 10th of December 2006 in the Art Centre of Palacký University (film and theatre hall, attic), Metropol cinema, 15 minutes club and S-klub in Olomouc. The programme of the Festival of Film Animation consisted of 30 blocks.
Polish Animation: Within this section, 55 years of Polish animation were introduced. Top ten of the best Polish animated films were screened. On that occasion, the anthology about Polish animation entitled Resuscitation of Unreal Worlds was published.
Animation and Visual Arts cycle presenting the production of Czech artists and VŠUP graduates was rather cross-sectional. The cycle was opened by Václav Mergl's retrospective and the artist was personally present. Miroslav Štěpánek's and Kamil Lhoták's films as well as films by young artists and animators whose work was under their influence, were screened within this section too.
Other Visions: the presentation of a programme section. This year there was a presentation of the Austrian artist Friedrich Kirschner on Michinima animation style that was manifested also within a workshop. The second guest, who introduced his own "other visions" was David Možný, who screened his personal selection of the best digital films and his own films. The programme was completed by authorial performances originally using electronic image (Phoenix Perry, Iris Piers, Michal Pěchouček). The accompanying programme culminated in the concerts of Prague bands WWW, Soil and Slovak Abuse who introduced also their visual accompaniment performed by VJ Clad. In the premises of the Art Centre of Palacký University, five accompanying exhibitions took place (Petr Šmalec, Veronika DOutlíková, Jakub Zich, Contemporary Czech Comics, Walerian Borowczyk).
