Ján Šicko (b. 1977, Slovakia) is a graphic designer, multimedia artists and educator. He gained his Bachelor (1996–2000), Master (2001–2003) and PhD. degrees (2003–2010) in Graphic Design at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava, Slovakia, where he has worked as assistant professor in the Department of Visual Communication since 2003. At AFAD he leads MediaLab, a space for exploring the boundaries of graphic design. He was a finalist in the Slovak Young Visual Artists Awards (Oskár Čepan Award), and was awarded the National Award for Design 2003, as well as Europe’s Best in Multimedia: Europrix 2002. In 2009 Šicko founded the creative laboratory DevKid.
He lives and works in Bratislava, Slovakia.
For the Screen City Festival in Stavanger, Norway, Šicko has prepared an original Project for Orgel Natt (Organ Night) in the Stavanger Concert House, in collaboration with Jonatán Pastirčák (Pjoni) and Nels Henrik Asheim.
For PAF Šicko prepared the original audio-visual project PLAIN in collaboration with Jonatán Pastirčák (Pjoni).
