Introducion: Pavel Bednařík
The choice of the student pixilation pieces approximates rather less known production of important animation film directors (Aurel Klimt, Václav Švankmajer, Michal Žabka) and the most recent and appraised work of FAMU, VOŠF and Zlín UTB students.
Is pixilation still topical? In what genres will it assert itself? Are the possibilities of this technique already depleted or is there still any extent of pixilation to provide the basis for new experiments and peculiar interpretation?
Answer yourselves. Look at the recent Czech pixilation production which originates at several colleges and universities that concern film studies (FAMU, Poněšice, Zlín UTB and VOŠF). We offer you the graduation works as well as some student annual film production of the well-renowned and appraised animation film directors (Aurel Klimt, Václav Švankmajer, Michal Žabka), and also the choice of the recent student production shot by those who already managed to detain at several film festivals and competitions (Famu Fest, Zlínský Pes and others). The last screening block from PAF Rewind cycle introduces also two films by Miloš Tomić who will personally lead the pixilation workshop.
