Fest Anča takes place in Stanica, the legendary multicultural centre in Žilina, in which the young generation of animators and artists gather. The selection of works by Peter Budínský, Alice Gurínová and Andrej Kolenčík will be presented at this year's PAF.
It would be impossible to find a single member of railway personnel in the building of Žilina-Záriečie Station, unless he/she was one of the many visitors to the Fest Anča festival held in this Slovak multicultural centre this summer for the fifth time. As usual it was an opportunity for many Slovak artists representing the young generation to get together.
The leading filmmakers, animators and visual artists associated with Fest Anča are also involved in the organizing the dramaturgical core of PAF and they includes Peter Budinský, the director of Fest Anča and the author of the short films Alfonz's Mucha, Bird of Prey (both 2009) and tWINs (2011), dramaturgist Andrej Kolenčík, who works both in the field of animated film – Busy-body & Boar Strike Again (2009), the Lunicek and Paresnicek series (2010) – and feature film as well as documentary film – ŠTB Hunter, A Star (both 2012). They are accompanied by Fest Anča's coordinator Alica Gurínová. She is engaged not only in illustration and the art of painting, but also in animation as proved by her student film In a Can (2008) and the music video Bells (2009).
The other artists include Lukáš Sigmund, the author of Betóno a Panel series (2012), Matúš Vizár whose short film Pandas (2012) concerns the environment, the duo of authors Michaela Čopíková and Veronika Obertová known as Ové Pictures, Rasťo Polenkovič, Dalibor Kristek and Daniela Krajčová.
Many of these artists are responsible for the visual identity of the festival. The DVD compilation Animácia nie je Dead / Animation is not Mŕtva (2010) contains a selection of their works. Their work will be introduced by the above mentioned trio of organizers – Budinský- Kolenčík-Gurínová.
