Eliška Děcká (b. 1982, Bílovec, Czech Republic) is film theoretician, educator and researcher focused on the connection between animation theory and practice, with a special interest in gender issues and the social influences on animation and vice versa. After graduating from the Law Faculty of Charles University in Prague, Děcká is completing her PhD. studies at the Film and TV School of Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. She teaches film theory and history at J. A. Komensky University in Prague, and cooperates with a number of film festivals, magazines and research projects. She is also a scientific investigator in various grant projects focused on animation. She is a member of the International Society for Animation Studies.
For the part of Festivals of Live Cinema that takes place in Stavanger, Norway, Děcká has prepared the screening block of animated films titled Aniscreen.
