On Sunday, the 20th of August 2017 Vitrína Deniska will host the exhibition opening of the show “How many times over are you a person?” by Bara and Barbora (Barbora Růžičková and Barbora Demovičová). A picnic and presentation will follow the opening.
Barbora Demovičová and Bára Růžičková are students of graphic design at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Brno. They have also studied in Germany and Belgium. They are devoted to graphic design and illustration, based on FaV's unofficial Illustration studio. The studio’s program is focused on developing a relationship with illustration and printing, searching for boundaries between graphic design and illustrations, as well as focusing on improving skills beyond the instruction of the AGD1 and AGD2 home studios. At Vitrínca Deniska's showcase, they reflect on their experiences abroad, with interested in how a person can start from scratch and whether anywhere in the world can feel like home. They try to reconstruct the same situation in Olomouc, where they will live for one week and start a new life. The exhibition will take place over seven days in Olomouc and anything they come across can influence them.
How many times over are you a person: Is it possible to start a new life? Move to a new country, start from nothing, build a new home, relationships, identity? What joins the old life to the new? What do we give up and what do we carry with us? Who will we become? Will we change our behavior patterns, habits and personality, or will we stay the same? Are our lives connected or do we live in multiple parallel worlds?
