He graduated in Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb, where he has presently worked as a pedagogue. His work has been exhibited in Croatia as well as abroad and it has gained various awards. Darko Bakliža has focused on design as well – he has created more than twenty designs of a theatre stage. He is also a writer and a composer. As an extern he gives lectures at the Trent University of Nottingham in Great Britain, at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania and in Pittsburgh in the USA. He has been devoted to animated film since 2002. His films have been presented at approximately sixty festivals since then.
