Concerts, VJ sets or musical performances are also a part of the PAF programme. Moreover, this year there will be a unique workshop Vjingu held in collaboration with the audiovisual platform Lunchmeat and FAMU's research project - mediabaze.cz.
DJs and VJs
During every night of PAF there will be DJ/VJ sets taking place in Café Tungsram Transit. Jakub Hošek & Nik Timková will be performing on Thursday and the visual platform Lunchmeat will be accompanied by DJ duo tvprodukt vs. emil gorgonzola on Friday night, while by Pjoni & Ink Midget on Sunday.
An intensive two-day workshop will be held by the experts from the Lunchmeat studio. They will guide the participants through the complex process comprised of the preparation phase, realization of scenography, creation of materials and visual performance. The work will be presented in the Resolume programme, but other VJs techniques and methods will be shown as well. Practical experiments and the outcome will be presented during the programme on Saturday night.
At the end of the festival there will be performing three artists - Fiordmoss, Ticho de Beige and Johnny the Horse. Some of them already know one other from previous participation within PAF. In 2009, Jan Vytiska (aka Johnny the Horse) met Jakub Němeček (tvproduct) at the VJ forum where he was performing as a visual artist with nowadays the non-existing band Like She. Petra Hermannová, a visual artist and lead vocalist, made it twice (2009 and 2010) to the final ten of Other Visions. Pjoni & Ink Midget have been performing at PAF since 2009 and their collaboration resulted in releasing a debut in 2011 at Exitab Records.
Fiordmoss is a Czech band that was formed in 2008 by singer Petra Hermanová and composer Roman Přikryl. In 2010, they were joined by guitarist Jan Baroš. To date, they have released two EP records - Gliese (2010) and Ink Bitten (2012). After releasing Gliese, they moved to Berlin. Their return was followed by a Czech tour and their gigs were supported by songwriter J (Jéčko). In August Fiordmoos released a new record called Siberia which had been made in collaboration with Norwegian music producer Jon Eirik Boska.
Jan Vytiska aka Johnny the Horse (guitar, vocals) released in November his first eponymous album. This post-punk album consists of six tracks and was created in collaboration with the band Palermo (Roman Štětina, Dominik Gajarský). Jan Vytiska studied intermedia in Ostrava and he captivated people in the local as well as international field of art with his paintings, combining apocalyptic and fairytale themes, set in a mountainous region.
Ticho de Beige is a multi-genre one woman project of Barbora Zelníčková. She studied scenography at JAMU in Brno, but she also likes drawing and painting, and even held her own exhibition Velká cena klisen (Grand Prix of Mares) in the ART Gallery. She is a co-founder of City Surfer Label and the multi-genre space City Surfer Office in Prague. Barbora describes her music as a combination of folk, ethno, techno, rap as well as flute and love.
