APORT ANIMATION
VIII. Festival of Film Animation 2009
The new section is incurred presentation of projects, products and audiovisual works, working with the principles of animation. APORT ANIMATION should also represent a production platform for the rights arising from animated films, visualization, graphic concepts, etc., which are in various stages of implementation and help their visibility. This year's program APORT ANIMATION primarily focused on the central European country.

The Two Cups of Tea exhibition enables you to taste the production of comics by a young Czech draughtsman and scenographer known as TOY_BOX. The start of her professional career is connected with melancholy cartoon stories about inanimate objects that lead philosophical dialogues together. She has rapidly worked up to reportage comics and through them she draws attention to current social problems which she eventually puts down on paper as narratives of real life stories. |

This section will present the contemporary production and animation background of two countries from the Central European area, Hungary and Slovakia. The presentation of the Hungarian animated films is a result of the co-operation with the partner organization, the Kecskemét Animation Film Festival, where the films were honoured by international juries. The personal attendance of the organizers of the Slovakian animation festival FEST ANČA, has been promised. They will present the most interesting animated works of Slovakian production in recent years. |

Last year PAF hosted the presentation of an international project with the working title Brendan and the Secret of Kells that had originated under the production and artistic supervision of a small, independent Irish animation studio, Cartoon Saloon. It was the very first public screening of samples from the then unfinished film. After a year and honoured by awards from festival juries and accompanied by the heuristic pride of the organizers from Olomouc, it comes back to Olomouc under the title The Secret of Kells. |

A unique presentation of a new project by the Amanita Design team – flash game Machinarium. It is a remarkable puzzle/adventure game based on drawing and their animation. Tomáš Dvořák has made the soundtrack for the Machinarium and he will present the work from the position of composer. |

Group of young designers (Myko, Punx23, TOY_BOX), engaged in screen printing, will present their work. Those interested will have the opportunity to try this Do It Yourself screen printing right at the spot. |

Anna Pankiewicz, the director of animated films from Krakow, will personally present her work as well as the film that is now being filmed as a Polish-Czech co-production. One of the co-producers is the non-government organization PASTICHE FILMZ, the organizer of the Festival of Film Animation. Pankiewicz considers her work of animation to be a personal confession on those themes that feel oppressive to her at present. Her graduation movie Happiness and There’s Always Tomorrow are the main films that follow such themes. |

Visual artist Michal Pěchouček will present his DVD monography Pater Noster Video Stories. Pěchouček considers his period of video and film production to be a closed chapter (temporarily or completely). Part of the programme will cover the christening of the DVD and the screening of several selected works by this artist. |
