At least according to Brooklyn based curator, writer and reporter Marina Galperina and Fast Company (NY) top-ten.
„Some of the best art of the year from/of/for the Internet is some of the best art of the year, period."
Ways of Something is on the toplist together with Random Darknet Shopper by !Mediengruppe Bitnik, the videos The Urgency by Extreme Animals and BEFNOED: Performances By Everyone Foe No One Every Day by Eva and Franco Mattes, online game With Those We Love Alive by Pornopentine, collection of online artworks on a platform mimicking an ancient Windows operating system Windows 93 by Jankenpopp & Zombeotro, film The Villains by Rhett Jones, Cunny Poem Vol. 1 by Bunny Rogers, Bite Labs, MoMass and Geneccin by Hello Velocity and of course Excellences & Perfections by Amalia Ulman (on the preview image).
„[Ways of Something] is much more than a take off of John Berger's seminal 1972 BBC documentary series Ways of Seeing. Ways Of Something is a timely and insane retelling of an outdated art history documentary by keeping the original soundtrack and replacing the visuals with videos made by digital-born and web-based artists from all over the world, one minute at a time. It's a quite serious but very entertaining artwork." Galperina said.
Apart from screening at PAF, the Ways of Something will be shown in Olomouc in other, special way - as an installation of digital prints in the moveable Gallery dé (which is situated in a standard tram). The opening, initially planned for the festival time, had to be postponed due to some technical issues on the vehicle, but will happened in the middle of January. (More info coming soon.)
